The goal was to design a reservation app for restaurants.
We wanted to help busy customers plan ahead for their dining reservations and easily add notes, make modifications and more.
Pictured right is the final mockup for the app homepage.
This section of the app focuses on the restaurant profile. Initially, the design included a brief description and a booking option on the same page.
However, after conducting user research, I found it beneficial to provide more comprehensive information about the restaurant on this page. This includes reviews, a link to the website/menu, ratings, operating hours, and additional details. By doing so, users are better equipped to make informed decisions before proceeding with a booking.
Throughout the project, I gained significant insights, particularly that the design process is dynamic and evolves at each stage. Engaging in design work sparked numerous ideas for improvements and additional features that could enhance user experience. It was reassuring to realize that design elements are not fixed, allowing for flexibility and continuous refinement during the development process.
